Public Workshops and Meetings
The County will be holding community workshops throughout the General Plan Update process to present information and solicit feedback on issues facing the County. The public is also encourage to attend and participate in all public meetings of the General Plan Advisory Committee (GPAC), Planning Commission, and Board of Supervisors. All Planning Commission and Board of Supervisor meetings related to the General Plan Update will be posted on this page. NOP Scoping Meetings - November 2, 2011
San Benito County will hold two scoping meetings on: Wednesday, November 2, 2011 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. for agencies and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. for the public.
The purpose of the scoping meetings will be to assist San Benito County in determining the scope and content of an Environmental Impact Report (EIR) to be prepared for the 2035 General Plan pursuant to the requirements of the California Environmental Quality Act. The 2035 San Benito County General Plan is a comprehensive update to the San Benito County General Plan (adopted in 1980), and is proposed in order to establish and implement new goals and policies for regulating development and balancing population growth with infrastructure availability within unincorporated areas of the County, agricultural preservation, and natural resource protection.

Board of Supervisors Meeting - April 26, 2011
The Board of Supervisors will discuss and provide input to staff on the General Plan Update during their April 26, 2011, meeting. This includes the following items:
- Receive an update from staff on the status of the General Plan Update.
- Provide direction to staff on the Draft 2035 Vision and Guiding Principles for the General Plan Update, including Planning Commission recommendations.
- Discuss and consider the merits of using the village concept, clustered residential development, and transferable development credits (TDCs) in the updated General Plan, including Planning Commission recommendations.
- Review and provide direction on the General Plan Advisory Committee (GPAC)
Preferred Policy Alternative, including Planning Commission recommendations.

Community Workshop #4 - January 26, 2011

On January 26, 2011, the County hosted a community workshop to gather input on alternatives for future change within the county over the next 25 years. Over 40 community members attended the workshop. The workshop began with a presentation that provided an overview of the General Plan update process and described the three alternatives that were released for public review in December 2010 and analyzed in the Alternatives Report. Following the presentation, workshop attendees participated in three interactive exercises designed to solicit feedback on the draft alternatives.

Phase 1 Community Workshops - October 2007
The County held a series of three community workshops in October 2007 to inform residents about the General Plan Update and solicit their input on various planning topics. The workshops were held at:
